Recent sampling conducted at Grapevine’s water treatment plants detected the presence of PFAS chemicals. The EPA is in the process of setting new MCL (maximum contaminant levels), which range from 4 to 10 parts per trillion. In numbers, that would be 0.00000000004 for PFOA and PFOS, individually to 0.0000000001 for PFNA, PFHxS, and HFPO-DA (GenX Chemicals). The water quality report does not explicitly report on the levels of PFAS in the area. Yes, Grapevine adds fluoride to its water supply to help prevent tooth decay. The most recent water quality report showed an average level of .3 parts-per-million. The maximum contaminant level is 4 ppm.

Grapevine sources its surface water from Lake Grapevine and supplements its supply by purchasing water from the Trinity River Authority (TRA). The TRA obtains its surface water from Lake Arlington, which is supplied by Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland-Chambers Reservoir.
